Class Descriptions
At Willow, our group classes are small enough so you will still get the individual attention necessary to help you progress in the classes. Each instructor is highly qualified and trained to pay attention to each individual. Class maximum is 5-12, allowing the instructor to offer each client personal attention.
All group classes are 50 minutes to an hour unless otherwise noted.
PILATES TOWER MAT CLASS flows from one exercise to the next, often with transitions that are like exercises themselves. In classical Pilates, a TOWER mat workout is truly that – a workout, and you will feel as though every muscle in your body has been worked. You will perform exercises laying down, sitting, on your side, kneeling and standing. Joseph Pilates put the exercises in a particular order for a reason – to warm your body up in such a way that you are ready for the next exercise. The tower utilizes spring tension to both aid the student as well as to add challenge.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED TOWER MAT is a Pilates mat class for clients who are very familiar with Pilates Tower Mat exercises and are looking for an additional challenge. The pace of this class is much quicker than beginner or open level classes. Clients must have a solid working knowledge of and comfort level with the Pilates equipment.
TOTALLY TOWER utilizes all things on the Pilates Tower — lots of push through bar, unexpected roll back bar exercises, and leg and arm springs. If the Tower is your favorite part of Pilates Tower Mat class, then this is a class we think you will love!
PILATES STICK CLASS will challenge your Pilates workouts with this innovative and unique body sculpting system. In a small group format you will experience many of the traditional Pilates exercises along with other functional fitness moves for a balanced and complete workout. A good understanding of Pilates mat will be helpful in this class but is not required.
PILATES REFORMER CLASS is a 45-minute class that uses springs, pulleys, bars and straps to perform over 500 exercises in a variety of positions. Our Gratz equipment was originally developed to offer movement and rehab to the injured, but today it offers a more challenging workout. Because of the reformer’s attachments, it is an ideal option for those who need modifications to the mat exercises. It is also easier to increase resistance with the reformer, creating more challenging work for the advanced Pilates client.
PILATES MEDLEY is all things Pilates! The trainer will plan a rotation of Pilates for this group session. The class may include Reformer, Mat, Chair, Props or Cadillac. Class is limited to five lucky clients.
BARRE brings in elements of dance, ballet and Pilates to create an adrenaline-fueled workout that strengthens, lengthens and chisels the body. Each class features an elegant yet energetic combination of movements that enhance flexibility, improve balance, and challenge the core. We take pride in our clients’ sweat and guide them to jaw dropping results by doing everything we can to keep their bodies on point in the studio and beyond. If you’re expecting just another barre workout, think again.
PILATES BARRE FUSION is half barre work, then half Pilates! The best of both worlds with cardio barre and the dynamic stretch of Pilates.
TRX CORE is one of the most effective exercise methods. It uses your body weight in different positions to train the core during every exercise. TRX promotes “balanced” strength from front to back and side to side, training each joint to function properly. This class will burn maximum calories, build strength, give you greater joint range of motion, correct your posture, and make inches disappear.
20/20/20 is designed to give you the ultimate challenge and total body workout. Sweat through 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of strength training, and 20 minutes of core work and stretching. Truly, 20/20/20 is a great way to cross train and get all of the elements of a great workout in one class!
STRETCH THERAPY is a specialized class focusing on proper stretching technique. Taught by Kelly Rogers this class helps to increase flexibility and circulation and reduce myofascial tension.
