FAQs

Question:  I am pregnant.  Can I do pilates?  Can I do Xtend Barre?

Pilates is not advised for pregnant women who have not done pilates immediately prior to pregnancy.  The deep core work would be depleted extensively for the client to the point that they would not be receiving the benefits of pilates.  Xtend Barre is allowed for pregnant women as long as they inform their instructor prior to class, wear a heart rate monitor, and hydrate throughout the class.  Deep twisting and overheating/dehydration are the main concerns.

Question:  Do I have to be a member at Willow to take classes?

You never have to be a member at Willow.  Membership allows the client to receive services at a lower rate and allows the client to buy larger packages which makes each visit cheaper.  The membership fee of $150 is a one-time fee that is good for life.  At Willow, you only pay for what you do, so there is never a monthly fee past the membership fee.

Question: When can I buy the deal of the month?  If I buy it, when does it expire?

Each monthly deal can be bought once in the designated month.  The package will then expire 6 months after purchase.

Question:  What should I wear for pilates or Xtend Barre?

For pilates and Xtend Barre, workout pants and a fitted or semi-fitted top is best.  You can be barefoot or wear socks for pilates, but you must wear non-slip socks for Xtend Barre classes.

Question:  Do men do pilates or Xtend Barre?

YES!  Pilates is great and a very tough workout.  Developing the core helps protect the back.  Professional athletes take pilates, because it helps them become more limber and strong.  Pilates is preventative care for back problems, which are a typical injury in men.  It also helps men who have injuries, so it's never too late for pilates!  Xtend Barre is pilates plus cardio.  Although we currently have few men in the classes, we want them to come!
